Join us in the woods for an exciting collaboration with Lorraine from Hedges and Hurdles!
Spend the afternoon beneath the trees learning how to make a walking stick from Hazel, then decorating using traditional whittling techniques which can be both relaxing and rewarding! Some may find this absorbing activity to be therapeutic too; it is certainly addictive!
All material has been cut as part of sustainable woodland management at Fellands Copse, Reigate.
Materials, craft knives, safety gloves and aprons will be provided for your use on the day. We will ensure you are fully instructed on how to use tools provided safely and effectively.
Before we start the workshop, Christian from The Salt Box will teach you the art of lighting a fire in the great outdoors, sparking the flames upon which we’ll cook your lunch on!
Following the workshop, we’ll sit down at our shared dining table beneath the trees for a delicious 2-course feast, cooked over an open-fire and inspired by seasonal, local ingredients.
