Summer Solstice Sundown | Sunset Yoga, Seasonal Supper and Mindful Art

Summer Solstice Sundown
Sunset Yoga, Seasonal Supper and Mindful Art

in collaboration with Surrey Art School and GLO Yoga Sussex.

Friday 19th June 2020 | 6:30pm – 10:00pm

Join us on the eve of the Summer Solstice beneath the trees in our woodland glen, for a combination of yoga, mindful natural art and a seasonal vegetarian feast, cooked over an open fire.

Nestled within our secluded glen at The Salt Box on the Priory Farm Estate in Nutfield, we’ll start our Summer Solstice evening with a restorative cup of wild tea and a light bite. Gathered around our flickering flames, we’ll join Ellie from Surrey Art School, using twigs gathered from the forest floor to weave a god’s eye protection charm for ourselves or our loved ones. The weaving of a god’s eye is a form of moving meditation, as hands work the yarn, heart sets an intention to ward off negativity and avert the critical eye.

We’ll then gather for our solstice inspired yoga practice with Georgie from GLO Yoga Sussex. The Summer Solstice is huge in Yoga tradition. Summertime is a time to invite fire into our lives and an opportunity to burn away all that we have outgrown and that no longer serves us. This purification or cleansing, reveals the true self at its most radiant core, deep within the solar plexus chakra aka “manipura”. The Solstice encourages us to look within remembering what we are and where we came from.

Our Yoga practice will include powerful introspective flow through solar plexus inspired sequences. This will be a beginner friendly session with more fiery variations for those wanting a stronger practice. We will include ancient breathwork techniques and a grounding meditation to connect you to this stunning back to nature space in the heart of the forest. We will close our practice with a wonderful guided deep relaxation under the canopy of the trees as the sun sets on the Eve of the Solstice.

We’ll then gather around our shared dining table for a locally and seasonally inspired vegetarian feast, with many ingredients sourced from nature’s larder. Our feast will be enjoyed in the woodland, connecting with our natural surroundings on the eve of the Summer Solstice.

Please bring your own yoga mat.
