with The Salt Box and Veasey and Sons Fishmongers

Join us for our Supper Club in collaboration with Veasey and Sons Fishmongers, for a dinner cooked over an open-fire and enjoyed in the great outdoors.

 

The evening will start with a glass of sparkling wine from the multi-award winning Albury Vineyard, followed by a 4-course feast celebrating the finest & freshest seafood and fish from British shores.

 

Veasey and Sons have had The Salt Box hooked from the start!  Their fish has featured on many of our supper club menus and we’re very excited to be joining forces with them to create a special seafood supper, celebrating the finest in British seaside produce.

 

Veasey and Sons are supplied by their own fishing boat, Le Belhara, which fishes daily off the coast of Eastbourne in East Sussex.  Their crew and boat are accredited by the Responsible Fishing Scheme, which assures suppliers that fish from this vessel has been caught responsibly and sustainably, an aspect that is extremely important to The Salt Box.  This freshest of catches can be snapped up at their award-winning fishmongers in Forest Row, as well as at a number of markets around East Sussex, including Priory Farm, which is where they caught our eye!

 

At this Supper Club, we’ll celebrate the delights of the deep with a feast cooked over fire, prepared in our open-air kitchen and enjoyed lake-side on the Priory Farm Estate.

Sussex Mackerel Ceviche
w/ radish, samphire and chalkhills rye crisp bread

w/ mange tout frazzles and sherry & orange braised fennel

w/ gooseberry parfait and propolis

Further Information

  • As with all our supper clubs, you’ll be seated with fellow diners on sharing tables. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re with all your pals, and you might even leave with some new ones! To encourage conviviality, a number of the dishes are designed for sharing and will be put in the centre of your tables.
  • We will have limited capability to cater for dietary requirements without advance warning, due to the set menu nature of the event, so please let us know about anything relevant prior to booking your tickets. All dietary requirements must be provided at least 48 hours prior to the event.
  • This is a rustic outdoor  setting, therefore please ensure to wear suitable clothing, wrap up warm if it’s a little chilly and sensible shoes (absolutely no stilettos!).
