Light yet durable, this beautiful basket allows for easy, hands free collection and storage of your favourite wild finds!
Handwoven from British willow with a traditional English style base (measuring 8×12 inches), a pretty trac border and a double long canvas strap. The strap can be worn as either a shoulder bag, cross-body bag or back-pack style.
All the willow used is grown and harvested in Somerset using only organic methods to produce a wide range of textures and colours. Willow is an incredible sustainable coppice material that is harvested annually in the winter and then grows back shoots or rods from the original stump over the summer. The Black Maul variety used to weave these baskets is grown on the Somerset levels. The suppliers are a family run business that have been growing willow for nearly 100 years.
These baskets are handmade in Hampshire by Louise at Rough Around the Hedges. As a member of the Heritage Craft Association and the Basketmakers’ Association Louise is passionate about promoting, educating and using the skills of basketry to help us reconnect with our natural environment.
Combine with the beautiful book Wild and Sweet by Rachel Lambert and a Salt Box Gift Voucher for a foraging experience for a glorious gift for the foraging enthusiast.
Care Instructions:
Use a soft brush to brush any dirt and dust away. If the basket gets wet, be sure to let it dry out naturally. Store indoors.
