Inspired by the Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing is the practice of being amongst trees, using mindfulness to help you tune into your senses, taking in the relaxing atmosphere of the trees and finding a connection to the natural world around us.
We will be welcoming Lisa from Hinoki Forest Bathing, who will lead a sensory walk through the woods, sharing how the art and science of forest bathing draws on the therapeutic powers of nature to reduce stress and encourage a profound sense of peace.
Book a seat on our foragers basket weaving workshop, where local artist Emily Chilvers will introduce our guests to the world of coiled basketry, a technique typically known as the ‘foragers’ style, an ancient and versatile technique that is used worldwide with the materials adapting to the native area. Combined with a woodland lunch for a relaxing morning in the woods.
Join us in our Woodland Kitchen to learn how to tame the fire and create Italian inspired meals, in a relaxed and informative environment beneath the trees. Our courses are suitable for anyone who wants to learn to cook over fire, suitable for both fire and food novices, with our passionate and professional tutors guiding you every step of the way.
Our feasts provide a warm welcome, a seasonal tipple and something mighty delicious from our flickering flames. We aim to champion seasonal and local producers and artisans, whilst making the most of nature’s larder throughout the seasons.
