We are taking a walk on the wild side and would love you to join us, for our newest collaboration with Wild Feast.

 

We’re teaming up with trained and experienced forager Sarah Watson from Wild Feast in a bid to introduce you to the hidden delights of nature’s larder.

 

Our passion for wild ingredients inspires many of our menus. When done carefully and sustainably, foraging is a great way of connecting with our natural environment and making the most of the ingredients on our doorstep. You can’t get more local than your nearest hedgerow!

 

Sarah Watson of Wild Feast first experienced foraging with her botanist father. Together they would roam the countryside, identifying wild plants and gathering edible mushrooms to cook up and devour with relish! Since then, she has foraged well over 100 species of British wild edible plants, seaweed and fungi, using them in wild food dishes, wild cocktails and mocktails. Now teaching her passion, Sarah has held workshops for Kew Gardens and guided foraging walks for the National Trust and we are very excited to have her come and share her tips for the perfect woodland feast!

 

Our foraging walk will be followed by a hands-on cookery workshop to prepare our woodland feast, cooked over fire and making use of the wild ingredients we have gathered along the way. Throughout the day, Sarah will share her ideas on how you can enjoy your wild edibles in both food and boozy infusions, as well as how to keep your foraging safe and sustainable.

Further Information

  • This is a rustic woodland setting, therefore please ensure to wear suitable clothing, wrap up warm if it’s a little chilly and sensible shoes (absolutely no stilettos!).
  • As with all our supper clubs, you’ll be seated with fellow diners on sharing tables. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re with all your pals, and you might even leave with some new ones! To encourage conviviality, a number of the dishes are designed for sharing and will be put in the centre of your tables.
  • We will have limited capability to cater for dietary requirements without advance warning, due to the set menu nature of the event, so please let us know about anything relevant prior to booking your tickets.

  • The menu is subject to change.
  • Full refunds available up to 7 days prior to the event.
  • Instructions on how to find us and where to park, will be sent to you up to 48 hours prior to the event.
  • Please note that toilet facilities are located a 5 minute walk away.
  • As well as adults, young people of 12 to 17 can participate and must be accompanied by an adult.
  • If you are pregnant and breastfeeding, please get in touch prior to booking a space on this event.
  • This particular route is not suitable for wheelchairs.
  • You eat new wild foods at your own risk and accept full responsibility for doing so. People may have individual reactions to unfamiliar foods, such as a mild stomach upset or an individual allergic reaction. Be aware that just like many cultivated food plants, certain wild foods may not be suitable for people with specific health issues, so please let me know before booking if you have an illness that may be affected by the food you eat. Wild Feast endeavours to provide up-to-date information about the edibility of plants encountered on a course, advising which plants are deemed to be safe to eat.
