The magic of Christmas meets the flames on our festive inspired fire cookery course, with ingredients inspired by the seasons to create a delicious feast.

Wrap up warm and join us for a day of taming the flames in a relaxed and informative setting in our beautiful woodland cookery school in Surrey.

‘Tis the season for feasting – and in this hands-on cookery course, we will teach you a range of skills and techniques to transform seasonal ingredients and create incredible festive flavours.

 

We’re firm believers that hosting a Christmas feast doesn’t have to be so daunting, and that the season should really be all about focusing your time and energy on family, friends and enjoying yourself – not slaving away in the kitchen! Cooking your Christmas dinner in a conventional kitchen presents all sorts of challenges, a balancing act between cooking and trying to keep things warm, so cooking part (or all!) of your festive feast over the fire can help. 

 

Throughout the day, you’ll learn how to get the best out of your winter veg, create delicious nibbles and sides, as well as stunning celebratory showstoppers. And it wouldn’t be Christmas without a steaming mug of mulled cider and some indulgent sweet treats!

 

Fires crackling and curiosity sparked, you will gain confidence in a medley of fire cookery methods; these may include skillet cooking, grilling, planking, coal baking or hot smoking. We’ll tackle the fire’s different heat zones and how to make the most of your fire – from the flickering flames to your end-of-the-day burning embers.

 

Our courses are designed to be informative yet relaxed. Whether you’re flying solo or joining us with friends and family, all of our workshops are centred around enjoying the fruits of your labour throughout the day – expect to head home with all the skills and recipes to replicate your festive creations confidently.

Learn on top of the range fire cookery equipment.

All of our fire cookery courses are taught on Country Fire Kitchen Hanging Frames – incredibly versatile with loads of scope for cooking over the flames.

 

We also feature a number of other great bits of kit, including ceramic charcoal grills (we use Big Green Egg), pizza ovens (we use Gozney Roccbox) and Kadai Fire Bowls.

Who is this course suitable for?

Our Cooking Over Fire course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn to cook over fire, suitable for both fire and food novices, with our passionate and professional tutors guiding you every step of the way. 

 

Our menus are best suited for flexible, adventurous eaters, and isn’t suitable for vegetarians.

 

This course is suitable for guests aged 14+.
