Our feasts over fire

Our feasts provide a warm welcome, a seasonal tipple and something mighty delicious from our flickering flames. We aim to champion seasonal and local producers and artisans, whilst making the most of nature’s larder throughout the seasons. 

 

Each feast over fire is unique, with a set menu inspired by our nose-to-tail and root-to-fruit ethos as we strive to reconnect people with what’s on their plate. We’re strong advocates of the shared dining experience, so at all of our events you’ll be seated with your old friends (and new!) on long sharing tables. To encourage conviviality, a number of the dishes are often designed for sharing and will be put in the centre of your tables for you all to enjoy.

 

From seasonal suppers to breakfast in the woods, lakeside picnics to teas in the trees, our goal is to create feasts over fire that people will look back on and stories that will be shared amongst friends and family for years to come.

Below, you’ll find our first batch of feasts for 2021.

We really hope to be able to release further tickets to all of our 2021 events, once we have a better indication of what ongoing COVID-19 restrictions may be in place for us all. For the meantime, if an event is showing as fully booked, please add your name to our Waiting List, and we’ll be sure to get in touch if any further tickets are made available.

our COVID-19 policy

The Salt Box is currently closed for face-to-face events, in line with the National Lockdown. When the time comes that the world starts to unfurl following lockdown, we will be rekindling our fires here at The Salt Box. 

In the meantime, we are taking bookings for feasts, courses and collaborations for March onwards. You can also browse our Online Shop, or join us on our Online Cooking Over Fire course.

Join us beneath the trees for a Breakfast to remember, cooked over our fires and enjoyed in the great outdoors!

Seasonally inspired food and good cheer as we celebrate the very finest local ingredients cooked our woodland kitchen. 

A wood-fired afternoon tea combined with wild cocktails, enjoyed around our signature shared dining tables. 

Showcasing local gin distillers, breweries and vineyards, we often host our feasts over fire  alongside tastings from our favourite locals!

We offer a range of wild food events and workshops celebrating foraged and wild ingredients, making the most of nature’s larder.

Take a seat and enjoy a seasonal six-course feast over fire, featuring our signature favourites, cooked in front of you in our woodland.

We’re embracing the ultimate British comfort meal and putting our twist on it. Enjoy a Sunday roast beneath the trees.

Join us as we shine a spotlight on a certain animal with a butchery demonstration combined with a feast.

Set in our cosy barn, we host a number of indoor feasts throughout the year.

We host at our feasts at a range of venues in and around Surrey, including Sculpture Gardens, breweries and vineyards!

Beckie and Christian’s concept of sourcing local foods, along with the wild things we don’t think about any more, combined with cooking over the open fires is inspirational - and made even more delightful by their enchanting woodland setting.
