Festive Ethical Gifts Workshop | Family

Join us for an afternoon in the barn learning how to make a variety of plastic-free gifts, the perfect ethical Christmas gifts for friends and family, that are good for the planet!

We all know that single-use plastic is detrimental to our environment and our health. In Europe alone, the demand for plastic has reached a high of 49 million tonnes a year, of which 40 per cent is packaging.

As a food business, we’re increasingly aware of the incredibly high volume of single use plastic in the food chain. We’re doing all we can to reduce our plastic use, and we want to encourage you to make a few changes for a little less plastic in your lives, and help your friends and family do the same.

During the workshop, we’ll be making beeswax food wraps and seed bombs!

Beeswax wraps are a natural eco-friendly alternative to cling film and tin foil for wrapping food, covering bowls and jars. They keep food fresh, are naturally anti-bacterial, can be reused, refreshed and are compostable. And – they’re a lot prettier than cling film too!

We’re biased, of course, but we love giving Beeswax Wraps as gifts. Everyone eats — and everyone, in our humble opinion our mind, deserves a better way to store food. They make a great stocking stuffer – and we’re the first to say that when it comes to giving, there’s no need to go over the top: the small, thoughtful gift is often the most perfect kind.

Filled with an explosive mix of organic peat-free compost and wildflower or herb seeds, we’ll then get our hands dirty to make seed bombs, which we’ll wrap in festive materials ready to gift. Perfect for you and your green-fingered wildling – why not keep some seed bombs for yourself to throw and grow and give others as gifts to teachers, grandparents, friends or family. Everyone can enjoy Bee-ing Wild!

What’s Included?

Per pair, you’ll go home with a set of 3 reusable beeswax wraps – as well as instructions and the confidence to replicate beeswax wraps at home. You’ll also get 2 bars of beeswax to take home with you.

You’ll also get the chance to make 4 seed bombs, individually packaged in festive cheer to gift to your family and friends.

We’ll also fire up a brew or two, with hot chocolate for the younger ones and mulled wine for the adults, as well as enjoy a slice (or two) of homemade festive cakes.

All materials will be provided.
