As a food business, we’re increasingly aware of the incredibly high volume of single use plastic in the food chain. We’re doing all we can to reduce our plastic use, and we want to encourage you to make a few changes for a little less plastic in your lives, and help your friends and family do the same.
Beeswax wraps are a natural eco-friendly alternative to cling film and tin foil for wrapping food, covering bowls and jars. They keep food fresh, are naturally anti-bacterial, can be reused, refreshed and are compostable. And – they’re a lot prettier than cling film too!
During this workshop, Beckie will show you how to make beeswax wraps, how to care for them and the many different ways that you can use them. All equipment and course material will be provided and at the end of the day you’ll get a set of wraps to take home with you!
We’re biased, of course, but we love giving Beeswax Wraps as gifts. Everyone eats — and everyone, in our humble opinion our mind, deserves a better way to store food. They make a great stocking filler – and we’re the first to say that when it comes to giving, there’s no need to go over the top: the small, thoughtful gift is often the most perfect kind.
If you’re looking to reduce your carbon footprint, reduce waste to landfill, reduce chemical-laden plastic food packaging or looking for ways to become more zero waste then this is for you.
All materials will be provided, including ingredients and an assortment of colourful organic fabrics for your beeswax wraps. If you have any cotton fabric that you would like to use for this workshop, please do feel free to bring it along!
