Join us beneath the trees for a collaboration with Hinoki Forest Bathing.

Join us beneath the trees to experience a forest bathing sensory journey through our beautiful ancient woodland, where the trees and nature will help you to relax and improve your wellbeing.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing is the practice of being amongst trees, using mindfulness to help you tune into your senses, taking in the relaxing atmosphere of the trees and finding a connection to the natural world around us.

We will be welcoming Lisa from Hinoki Forest Bathing, who will guide you on a sensory walk through the woods, where you’ll learn how the art and science of forest bathing draws on the therapeutic powers of nature to reduce stress and impart you with a profound sense of peace.

We’ll close the session with a taste of the wild: a Japanese influenced woodland tea ceremony, followed by a tiffin style picnic, inspired by nature’s larder and celebrating local, seasonal ingredients. And what better place to dine, than under the canopy of the trees?

About Hinoki Forest Bathing

Originally from Hawaii, Lisa is the founder of Hinoki Forest Bathing and practices her forest bathing daily, often in The Hurtwood. She leads forest bathing sessions throughout the Surrey Hills.

“I cannot remember the last time I simply paused and listened. I’ve just spent the most extraordinary two hours doing just that. And I feel so much more connected with myself and the world around me.” – Forest Bathing Participant

Dietary Requirements

Our Wildly Inspired Picnic will be Vegetarian. Gluten Free options available upon request.

Our menus are best suited for flexible, adventurous eaters with a strong focus on seasonally and locally inspired ingredients, including wild and foraged foods sourced from nature’s larder.

Due to the nature of our events and in order to uphold high-quality standards we are only able to accommodate limited dietary requests at our dining events and cookery courses. Our dining events are intimate affairs with small groups, centred around a set menu lovingly prepared in our remote woodland kitchen by our small kitchen team, therefore preparing a separate menu to cater for dietary needs is not always possible.
